I had the absolute pleasure to work on maps for Ubisoft title : xDefiant.
Jorvik was one of the first maps I got to take a larger role on during my time at Ubisoft. The team did an amazing job at bringing the world Valhalla into xDefiant.
My tasks included:
- Bringing assets into Snowdrop from the AC Engine (Anvil): Including updating, optimizing, and repurposing them for use on xDefiant to meet metrics and visual quality standards.
- Rope and Tarp pass to bring the visual quality up for the new first person perspective.
- Created snow textures and associated terrain assets with the help of Karina Riesgo.
- Themed select locations around the map including flank routes and vista detailing.
This map was by far my favorite and marks a huge experience milestone in my tenure at Ubisoft. I got to collab with so many great minds. It's a shame that players did not get to see a grand reveal of this map, but at least get to play on it nonetheless.
