The drawbridge in Seneca is one of many features that can drastically change how the level is played. Part of the levolution system for Seneca.
With this piece I wanted to try to use a detail or trim map since it was so large. I accomplished this by making reusable pieces to build up the main structure. I then mapped those pieces to a normal map that contained rivets and bolts. This, combined with face weighted normals gave me smooth edges and normal mapped features with having to UV everything. Select pieces were given a custom map to add to the variety while the rest used tiling materials that will be added to our master material to add dirt and grim in.
